You are a bold, cutting-edge leader but...
-
When visiting classrooms, you notice that teachers are trying their best but behaviors are an issue, students are disengaged, and test scores are stagnant or dropping.
-
You are excited about the Science of Reading movement, but sense that the staff are overwhelmed and frustrated with the lack of clarity on how to teach.
-
The number of teachers telling you that they are burned out, or quiet-quitting, or walking out the door is alarming.
-
You've thrown everything and the kitchen sink at improving students' literacy scores and boosting staff moral.
-
Your staff has newly-purchased materials. They are overwhelmed and need to know which parts to teach.
-
Staff are experiencing information overload from social media, podcasts, listservs and just want a CLEAR Tier 1 pathway forward.
I know you are a committed leader and...
-
You want every teacher and kiddo in every classroom to thrive.
-
Your staff wants to know what high quality research-based instruction can look like in classrooms.
-
It’s time to hit the refresh on your school or district’s Tier 1 plan to improve literacy success.
-
You and your staff believe in the research and you’re READY to transform Tier 1 practices in classrooms, across grade levels, and across schools.
You know there are other places (e.g. Mississippi)
creating strong readers and confident teachers,
and you want to make it happen in your district.
When schools subscribe to Educate’s Tier 1 system, they are creating a sustainability model with the goal of achieving long-term literacy success. Districts and schools with a strong Tier 1 plan get everyone on the same effective instruction page.
Literacy improvements become possible when all principals, teachers, and students are rowing in the same direction with predictable, effective routines using your district's adopted materials.
You've made changes; you still have an
overflowing intervention system.
-
You’ve invested in new curricula.
-
You’ve invested in training after training.
-
You’ve invested in multiple assessment systems.
-
You’ve invested enormous amounts of money in intervention programs and staff.
-
You've invested in morale-boosting activities.
It's time for a sustainable,
system-wide Tier 1 model that makes sense.
Collective, effective Tier 1 practices matter and require a clearly developed and communicated game plan.
Leaders with a clearly developed, doable, research-based Tier 1 plan impact literacy success. Schools and districts can either spend years designing a plan and hope for the best, or they can get on with teaching and learning by investing in a nationally-implemented Tier 1 system.
Educators collectively implementing a Tier 1 plan and collectively teaching with instructional pizzazz build readers and writers.
Systems that provide ongoing Tier 1 instructional demonstrations support teacher clarity. Teachers SEEING what we (leaders) are envisioning helps them meet our expectations. We can talk (in meetings) about Tier 1 or BE about Tier 1.
Chasing the next ‘trend’ is exhausting for leaders and teachers. Initiative fatigue is real. With a cohesive, firmly established, functioning Tier 1 system there is little need to continue looking for the next fix.
Let's talk money. Curricula is expensive. You don't want them in the closet or garbage. Materials go unused because they are confusing and overwhelming. Teachers need materials with a Tier 1 strategy to build literate students.
Educate acknowledges your curricular monetary investments; that's why our system utilizes district-adopted materials to transform Tier 1 literacy practices. You deserve a return on your fiscal investment, and teachers deserve a clear Tier 1 game plan.
Let's get you and your team on the road to a system-wide, sustainable Science of Reading in Tier 1 strategy.

Secondary and Elementary Schools
At Educate we KNOW teachers and leaders are dedicated to students and their literacy success. We also KNOW that systems can be clunky, funky, and in desperate need of Tier 1 repair. You're in luck. Our co-founder, Staci, spent her 20+ year public school and research division career solving the Tier 1 confusion. Today, Educate's Tier 1 system is in 49/50 states, PK-12.
In the 24-25 school year, your district can access Educate's Tier 1 system through our NEW virtual Roadmap. The Roadmap's details are listed below, but put simply -- your school gets K-5 and/or 6-12 asynchronous Tier 1 courses with 6 live, virtual seminars*.
Our goal is to support the good humans working in schools and districts around the world. Technology is the connective tissue to our collective Tier 1 synchronicity; thus, the NEW online option!
Keep reading to get the details on your school's Tier 1 solution.
- One building-level license to Educate's NEW asynchronous Tier 1 Roadmap courses (K-5 and/or 6-12). The BITE-SIZED, grade-level specific Tier 1 courses are meant to speak directly to teachers and leaders about how to plan for and teach Tier 1 with your adopted materials. With 12 month access to Educate's frameworks and teaching videos, schools can continuously work on nailing Tier 1 together!
Each online, grade-level (or content) specific Tier 1 course provides:
- A detailed explanation of Educate's 7-step Tier 1 framework
- Multiple Tier 1 instructional demonstration videos
- Student handouts that accompany Educate's Tier 1 framework(s)
- Grade level-specific Tier 1 slide decks for teachers to use when teaching the 7-step framework
- Information and modeling on how to plan for instruction using the district's adopted materials.
The grade-level specific courses are designed to provide flexible, on-demand Tier 1 support. Teams can watch and re-watch, read and re-read, try and retry components of Educate's Tier 1 frameworks. They can use the online coursework's content to share their understandings, celebrate Tier 1 wins, practice particular framework steps, and share the Tier 1 planning load with each other.
